George Basias was born and raised in Athens. Graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering of ATEI Piraeus. He studied for two years contemporary music Harmony with teacher George Grigorakos. He then studied Byzantine music at the Hellenic Arts Club, where he attended a four-year course in the production of stringed traditional musical instruments by teacher Fotis Louridas. To date, he has made various stringed instruments such as Rebetokithara, Politiko lute (Lafta) and Tzoura. He has participated in music groups playing guitar in various genres of music. In 2012 he wrote the music for the puppet show entitled "Horizon" by Nefeli Bonanou. He is a founding member of the artistic workshop "Askardamykti" in which he works as a teacher in the department of "making traditional strings" in parallel with other activities.
